Competition for better fuel efficiency good for everyone

With rising gas prices, there is a need for the consumer to reduce his consumption. This reduce in consumption benefits both the environment as well as the consumer. Hence, there is a healthy competition among car manufacturers to produce cars that have more mileage. This is healthy and is a good shift from manufacturing cars just aimed at more speed and other comforts and luxury. The EPA is also very happy about this new change of thinking. Hence, companies are trying to sell more small cars that have less fuel consumption. The figures are very encouraging. Each manufacturer is trying to improve the efficiency of their cars and augurs well for the economy.
